New blog design

July 21, 2017

When I started my blog I just used the first theme I could find which was Canape. After over a year I decided to change it into button 2. I love this theme so much because you can do so many things with it. I love to have a good sidebar and button 2 is amazing for that. But after a couple of months of using it I wanted a change. As I said I was so happy with my blog design, like so happy, but I feel it’s good to update your blog and try new themes and stuff like that.

This was my old blog design. I loved the pink colour and it looked just very girly which I absolutely love.

I love creating categories and menus and this theme is so good for that. But now I wanted something else. I still love the colour pink but I wanted something different and I decided to go with the theme Fictive.  I would describe this theme as a bit more neat and it’s not as playful as my last one. I still have my menu, but now on the sidebar which I like. My sidebar is pretty much the same because I really like it that way.

But what I love most about my new design is this part:

First of all I think this looks just so cool! I love that you can see my what I call ‘profile picture’ with my two smoothies which I am using for a year now on WordPress and Instagram. I really love this picture but I also wanted to include a picture of myself. As most of you know I am not that brave yet to show my face online but I still wanted to include a picture. I think this gives a more personal touch to my blog website and as I said, I am loving it so much!

I also changed my Glücksgeist-Logo a little bit. Because I love pink so much I created a pink end-logo which I love.

For my red posts I changed it into this one:

New favourite colour: red      My red obsession – How I style my red skirt

Because my theme is darker now and more neat I decided to change it into this one:

I think I am still going to use the other ones too whenever I feel using them. Let me know which one is your favourite in the comments below. I love all of them!

A few months ago I wrote a post when I changed my theme from Canape to Button 2 but I’ve never included pictures. I am so happy I did it this time because you then can actually see what I’ve changed and I think it’s really nice to keep this as a memory.

Let me know what you think of my new design!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Love, x

  1. It’s fun to change around designs! I stuck with the same one for aaages, but since going self-hosted, I had fun playing around with all the different themes! I also, love how many headers you have! I’m going to miss the little ghostie in your newest one, or maybe he’s just hiding in the cupcake? 😛
