I am a student at a University and every 5 months we have finals weeks where we write all of our exams. It isn’t my favourite time and gets so much more stressful each semster. I can only really focus on that big part of my life at once and can’t think about anything else – that’s why I had a big blogging break. In between I can’t wait for all my exams to be done and wish nothing more than the end of the finals weeks.

Normally watching a video isn’t the most exciting thing and going out on a walk is a little too much effort so you stay in on the couch. But whilst you have to study each day you wish you could do all these things because they sound so amazing to you.

Treating yourself

Everybody needs a treat after surving these weeks of studying. Something you can get excited about whilst studying for things like maths. I wrote a big list of things I can do after I survived these weeks. It’s like a bucket list for after your finals. I told a girl from Uni about it and she liked the idea so much that she created her own list or better a day where she can treats herself for studying so much.
She wanted to go visit our favourite shop so we decided to go shopping there after she finished her last exam. We planned this for a bit and I was really looking forward to it.

I discovered this vintage store last year and we’ve been there together before but didn’t manage to go there more often so it was the perfect treat for us. It isn’t one of these crazy expensive vintage shops which is cool. They have only specific items and only a few which makes shopping there a lot more chilled and you don’t have to worry about stains or anything like that because they only offer good clothes.

Vintage clothing shop – Vintage markt

First of all we went to the vintage shop. I didn’t want to spent too much money so in the first place I just wanted to go “window shopping” which is still super fun to me. We had a look at the clothes and I found this super cute jumper with Snoopy and Woodstock on it. It was really cute but I didn’t see myself wearing it so I just took a photo to show it to my mum instead.

Visiting a record store

After that we checked out a record store which was interesting. I’ve never been there before but always wanted to go to one. I am not that good in knowing cool artists but it was still cool to browse through some records. I guess it was the owner of the shop was really interesting. He was speaking super loud on the phone (kind of screaming) and it had that interesting touch to the shop. It definitely was a unique experience I would say so.

Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters

I love Brandy Melville but don’t own a lot of clothes from them because their clothes are pretty expensive. It was quite a good therapy to visit the vintage store before going to Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters. The prices at the vintage shop are pretty affordable so seeing those prices and pretty much the same clothes at Brandy’s and Urban Outfitters made us realize that we don’t want to spend that much money on clothes. I would recommend this strategy if you want to save some money.

The cutest shop – Sostrene grene

I saw this shop quite a few times before but first I thought it was super small and also thought that it would be super expensive. BUT it is the most cutest shop out there. It reminds me of ‘flying tigers’ and ‘hema‘ but so much better. It was a miracle that I didn’t buy anything because all the things were so cute. It’s definitely my new favourite shop and I can’t wait to go back there (check out my next blog posts for a haul).

All in all I had a great day. It was the perfect end to my second semsester at Uni. And to be honest I can’t believe that I am starting my third semsester in a few weeks already! Time is flying by!

Do you have any traditions or things you like to do after your finals? I would love to hear them in the comments below for some inspiration.
It feels so good to back and I hope you are excited for all the blog posts I have planned.

Love, Anni

  1. I always make sure to keep one night aside even during studying for exams, to go out for a dinner with my friends, and exhausting as it is to coordinate with everyone’s schedules, it’s the best way to take a break! Also I’m convinced that record stores as some of the most therapeutic places on earth! xx

  3. First of all, love your new blog design! Secondly, I relate to the uni exam stress so much. I tried to keep my blog up and running by pre-writing some stuff, but all I wanted to do during the exams was blog, haha. I found myself thinking of certain types of looks that I wanted to do or new ideas popped up but then I was never able to do them. I’m so glad the exams are finally over, whew. We usually go on a little vacay for a week after the exams. That’s our little tradition0 I wish Belgium had more vintage shops. Most of them are quite shabby and the clothes are often damaged. I love the pictures in this post. They’re so cute and beautiful. Welcome back girl! xx

    1. Thank you so much!! I didn’t know of this shop for such a long time and was so surprised when I found it! Maybe you find one like this one day too 💕 and that sounds like such a good tradition to have! I’m really enjoying my holidays so much atm, it’s so great to just do whatever you want to do. Thanks for always supporting me xx

  4. First of all, I’m so glad you’re back! I loved this post!
I related with it so much not only because I’m in a blogging block too but because I also like to reward myself after passing an exam or doing a lot of work. Long caffee talks with friends, watching movies and DIY-ing a spa night are some of my favourite things. 🙂
Can’t wait for more posts to come! xx

I like to treat myself after finals definitely, I also like to plan a “shopping” day where I’m going to spend full day with my friend, buying things that I had on my wish list, having lunch and coffee”. It’s a great way to relax, treat yourself for hard work and hang out with best friend, have a girly day out. Lovely post dear. xx
