I went on my first little road trip on my own and thought it would be nice to write a blog post about it. In the last time I drifted a bit away from blogging. I thought every blog post had to be perfect, tried to use the right photos to pin it on Pinterest, used a blog name generator to find the best catchy title and just was caught up in the whole blogger thing. But that’s not really what I enjoy to write and I realised this these past days. I thought of this blog as my own little space – maybe a bit of a diary but not being unhappy because it didn’t look like the posts from all the “big” bloggers.

SO let’s start with this blog post where I chat about my little road trip which was the first one I actually took on my own. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Scared of travelling on my own

I always overthink every single thing which can get really annoying and stressful. It makes me feel so stressed but I just have to slowly calm down with these things. This time I was worried about the whole trip. About the drive their with the bus, the way back, what we were doing and in the end I wasn’t even sure what I was worrying about I was just thinking about everything. BUT I obviously made it.

The bus drive their was about 3 hours long. I actually arrived 15 minutes earlier which isn’t really that normal but I was sad about it. The driver was a bit weird and the bus was super empty so I was quite excited to get off. I waited a few minutes until my friend arrived and picked me up. I was really excited and happy to see her again because since she moved to another city we aren’t seeing each other that much anymore.

Making Pizza is always a good idea

First we went to her flat which she is sharing with two other people. I really liked the look of her flat and it didn’t took long to get there. After the drive I was a bit hungry so we made pizza which is such a traditional food we always make. The pizza tasted so good by the way! After the delicious pizza we tried to decided what we should do with the day. In the end we decided to go for some mini golf in the dark which I actually really wanted to do for ages!

Playing mini golf in the dark

I am quite bad at mini golf – at least I remembered that from the last time I played it which was a few years ago. I was excited to try it again and just hoped it would be fun and not putting me down because I am not that good at it. BUT it was like so much fun! We laughed the entire time, trying to hit the ball which landed all across the entire room and I just really loved it. I wasn’t thinking I would like it that much but it was such a fun afternoon thing to do – it was so cool and I would 100% recommend it to you.

We weren’t the luckiest with the weather that’s why we went for indoor mini golf, but after the mini golf it was a bit sunny so we decided to do a bit of “sightseeing”. I really enjoyed walking around the city and having my own little “tour guide” with me. We check a bunch of things out and ended up getting home at around 8 I think because we did so much walking! But it was so freezing outside and I think I got a little bit sick from it.

Movie night – with chocolate raisins

Back at her place we cooked some spaghetti and ate them for dinner which were really nice. After that we decided to watch a movie and went for “Insurgent”. We went to see every single movie together in cinema so these movies are literally “our” movies so it was really fun to watch them again with her and talk about all the things we love and laugh about. We also ate a bunch of chocolate raisins which tasted amazing! And I was way too excited about them! My friend also showed me an episode of “The royals” which seems like quite a dramatic show but I’m probably going to check it out again. You can let me know if you liked/or watched that show in the comments below.

Time flies by

After that we went to bed. The next day we had breakfast together and watched the last movie of the Divergent-series. And then it was time to get going because I had to catch my bus home. I always am early for things so I was about 20 minutes early for the bus which then disappeared from the advice because it was an hour late. So I waited for an hour in the cold, was absolutely freezing and came home so cold because the bus was freezing too and took a super hot shower.

All in all I had a really nice time visiting my friend. I am proud that I managed to go there on my own and maybe I can worry less about it the next time.

Have you travelled on your own before? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Love your photos and your trip sounds so lovely! Honestly, I end up feeling the same about my blog a lot but at the end of the day I don’t really change anything since it just suits me right now. Ah well! But I love to travel on my own and have done quite a few solo trips. I always recommend doing them!

  2. I love the postcard feel to the photographs! I have never really travelled on my own anywhere, normally I am with friends or people I vaguely know and will make conversation with. I get the train on my own to work everyday but normally I just watch YouTube videos or read a book. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend with your friend. xx

    1. It was a really fun trip and it felt so good to see my friend again and spend time with her. I really didn’t think it would be so much fun to play it in the dark! It’s quite good if you are as talented as me and throw the balls around you so nobody sees you that good xx
