Almost vegan gingerbread men| Glücksgeist

I saw Niomi Smart baking some gingerbread men in her first vlogmas video. Niomi lives on a plant based diet so everything she makes is vegan. I personally don’t live vegan but I really loved the sound of her recipe so I gave it ago with a few little changes.

You will need:

  • 264 grams of flour
  • half a tsp of bicarbonate of soda (German: Natron)
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon (!) of grounded ginger
  • 52 grams of melted coconut oil (Dm – 3.45 Euro)
  • 56 grams of almond milk
  • 70/80 grams of maple syrup (I used honey)
  • 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses (German: Zuckerrübensirup)
  • 96 grams of brown sugar

As you can see I converted everything into Grams because I don’t use Cups (would be way easier though). If you’re looking for the Cup measuring check out Niomi’s post.

Start with mixing all your dry ingredients in a bowl. Flour, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon and grounded ginger.

Melt your coconut oil. In a second bowl combine all your wet ingredients. Almond Milk, Maple Syrup, Black Molasses, Brown Sugar and your coconut oil. Mix together until well combine. Then add your wet mixture to your dry mixture and combine carefully.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for about one hour. Roll out your dough and cut out your shapes. Bake your gingerbread men for 12 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

I had so much fun making these. I absolutely love this recipe. It’s also really nice to try out new recipes. I never baked Vegan before (I know Honey isn’t vegan ;)) so it was really nice to do that for the first time. I have so many amazing photos of my little gingerbread men so choosing only a few was too hard.

I hoped you enjoyed this post. As always let me know what you think of it in the comments below. Have you ever baked vegan before?

Gift ideas under 20 euros | Glücksgeist

ASOS is the perfect space to find some amazing Christmas presents. I bought all my presents for my family on ASOS this and last year. I mean most of you know that I order way too much stuff from there but I love everything I got so it’s fine.

I really wanted to share some of the things I got from ASOS with you to give you some gift ideas. But not everything I mention is from ASOS so you don’t have to be as ASOS obsessed as I am to buy these things.

Salt and Pepper Pineapple shaker

My mum loves pineapple so this little present is perfect for her and anybody who has a little pineapple obsession. These are Salt and Pepper Pineapple shaker. They look super cute and I would totally use them every single day!

Perfume – Rituals

I also think that perfume is a great present. Rituals has some amazing scents and the little perfumes are just too adorable. I am using mine on a daily basis and if you have a friend who loves Rituals products you are good to go with this.

Paint – the arty friend

I started painting again in November and it became one of my fav things to do. A lot of you said that you enjoyed painting as well so I think giving someone paint as a present is amazing. You can buy it really inexpensive in stores like TEDi (for the german ones). You can also buy nice picture frames there for a really good price and everybody has an arty friend am I right?

Paint 1 Euro – Picture frame 1,50 Euros

Intax mini films

This is a little bit more expensive but pro-tip you can buy them for a really good price on eBay. I love to use my Instax mini camera but of course buying films can get quiet expensive so receiving a film is the best thing ever. And you can have a little photoshoot with your friend right after you got them. (ASOS has some great films too)

Books – for the bookworm

Reading is such a nice thing to do, I absolutely love it. I always get super excited when I get a new book and I always try to remember the person I got it from and keep them up-to-date with how I like it.

Cosy socks

I know not everybody loves receiving socks but I love to give them as a present. I gave multiple socks to my mum and dad and I received so many from my friends. I never spent money on nice socks so it’s really nice to receive some as a present.

Socks – 8,49 Euros

Colouring books

These are so addictive!!! I absolutely love to colour-in my cacti one and I think this is one of the best presents to give. You can buy so many different ones of them and ASOS has some great ones in stock.

Face masks

I know not everybody is as face mask obsessed than I am but it’s so nice to treat yourself and I gave a face mask to my friend last year and I loved receiving her photos of her using it. You can buy so many different masks and also some really good but inexpensive ones, so this is the perfect present for anybody.

Mask – 1,85 Euros

Fairy lights and disposable cameras

Another thing I think is so nice to receive are fairy lights. Everybody loves these so getting them for Christmas is just perfect. I also wanted to mention disposable cameras quickly. I am planning on doing a own post for them but they are so much fun to use and the perfect gift. I know polaroid cameras are so on trend right now, but the perfect alternative for a nice but not so expensive photo shoot are these cameras.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know which gift idea you liked the best.

Christmas eve

Christmas eve is for me the most important Christmas day. In Germany we open our presents on christmas eve. So as a child it always was the most exciting day for us 😉.

I always loved going to the church and seeing the performance of the birth of Jesus and singing some Christmas carols.

I always want to give my family the most amazing presents because they are my life and I would be nothing without them, I love them so much.

But it’s not about the prices, it’s about the thought and that’s all that matters.

All the stuff is from Asos 🙂 (except for the presents for my mum).

My little sister (she’s taller than me) creates a bit of a new style. Loads of her stuff is just too small and very childish so I wanted to give her a few new things.

New Look

For my brother I first had some shirts too, but I wasn’t really sure if he would 100 percent like them so I sent them back.

Now I’ve got this for him:

I actually really love it, I think it’s so cool and every friend is going to love it too.

He also loves to keep his shoes clean so I got him this stuff :D.

Sneaker Protector (Asos)
For my dad we always buy him books because he loves reading, but it can get a bit boring always receiving the same so I got some other things for him this year. I know this sounds at first terrible nobody wants to receive them as a child but now I would love getting them: SOCKS 😊. The socks my dad owns are so old, so I ordered him these ones:

I think they are really nice. And I also got him this slippers because his ones are old too and I think they look really nice and comfy.

I had to think a bit about what I want to get my amazing mum, but than I found 3 amazing things which I am so obsessed with.

Last year one of her mugs broke and she wanted to buy a nice one since that happens but she kind of forgot about it. So I ordered her the mug which broke. But I thought it would be much cooler if the mug wouldn’t be just white. I got her a mug with the skyline of Hamburg. We visited Hamburg  together this year and went to see Lion King so I thought the mug sums our adventure perfectly up.

Villeroy und Boch

When we were in Hamburg I used my new eye shadow palette, my mum absolutely loved it and said that she would like to have the same one. We looked around the city but we couldn’t find another one, so I ordered her one for herself 😊.

Rossman for the German ones

And last but not least I created a gift card for her to go to a backstage tour for the musical ‘Mary Poppins’. She wants to see the musical for so bad and we already planning on doing that and we love to go to these kind of tours so I thought it would be the perfect gift.

Of course Christmas isn’t ‘just’ The time of giving, but it feels really good to give something back to my amazing family who supports me and is always there for me.❤

I hope you have/had the best Christmas 🎄. Thanks for joining me this year. I hope you enjoyed my first time attempting Blogmas.

Merry Christmas 🎄

As I said I really wanted to share another Christmas cookies recipe with you, but because I am sick I couldn’t do it yesterday. Today I took all the power I had and baked Spitzbuben. I hope you are going to love them as much as I do.

I didn’t take pictures for every step this time so it wouldn’t take as long to do and I could go back to my bed.

You will need:

  • 250 grams of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 40 grams of vanilla pudding powder
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 175 grams of soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams of strawberrie jam

Mix everything except of the jam in a bowl until it forms a cookie dough consistency.

Cut out circles our stars and place them on a baking tin. Cut another smaller circle or star out of the circles. (Half / half)

Bake the cookies for 9 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.

Let them cool down. Place some jam onto the circles without an hole. Then place a cookie with a hole on top of it. Put the left over jam into a pot and heat it up until the jam is liquid. Fill the holes of the cookies with the jam and let them cool down.

At the end sprinkle some icing sugar on top of them.

I hope you have/had a nice Christmas eve eve.
