Easy and quick Gift idea | Glücksgeist

Christmas was just around the corner, but there are still more things to celebrate like birthdays. You can’t run out of gift ideas, so I thought I share a simple but super nice one with you today. I made this for my friend for Christmas and she absolutely loved it.

All you need for this is a jar of your choice and a recipe, I went for a cake recipe. As I said it’s super simple. You break your recipe apart and add all the dry ingredients into your mason jar. Then you add a little note with what the person has to add and how long they have to bake the cake or whatever you go for. How amazing and simple is this gift idea?

I absolutely love it! If you don’t know what recipe you should go for I have a little one for you prepared.

What you have to add to the jar:

  • 180 grams of flour
  • 80 grams of cocoa powder
  • 1 and a half tsp baking soda (German: Natron)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 270 grams of sugar
  • 140 grams of brown sugar
  • 2 packages of vanilla sugar

What the person has to add to it to get a delicious cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 80 ml water
  • 240 grams of sour cream
  • 60 ml vegetable oil

Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then take a separate bowl and add the wet ingredients to it. Mix until well combine. Add the wet mixture into the dry and mix until well combined. Bake the cake or the 24 muffins at 160 degrees Celsius for 35 to 40 minutes (muffins: 18-20 minutes).

How amazing is this present? I absolutely love it. As always let me know what you think of it in the comments below.

My bullet journal 2018 | Glücksgeist

I started my very first bullet journal last year. I had so much fun playing around with different pages, but I didn’t really use it on a day to day basis. I wanted to change that for this year and create a fresh new journal which I actually would use.

You can do so many things with your bullet journal. I decided to do one for my blog, so I can be super organized with my posts and Instagram pictures. I also love to have a place where I can be creative and take loads of notes so I really wanted to include these things to my journal as well.

I found this amazing little notebook for 2 Euros at my local DM (like Superdrug) and totally fell in love with it. They have loads of different designs but who doesn’t love flamingos, so I had to pick this one and I ended up getting a marble one as well. I love that you can add a photo or multiple little ones to the front page. You can always change them and it makes this journal so much more exciting. I chose two of my favourite Polaroids from last year for my front page.

Every book needs an Index, at first I thought I skip this but it comes in very handy, so I recommend creating one. I took the pictures for this post a few days ago and I already filled so much more in, so just keep your eyes out on my Instagram to see updated photos of it.
One thing I really wanted to have in my journal was a monthly planner where I can plan all of my blog posts. Before I just planned them on WordPress but always ended up changing the dates and it got quiet confusing. I love how simple but amazing this little planner is and yes, I already planned my posts until March. I really like having a little bit of space to add notes so I left half of a page empty to be able to write things down. And I saw Lilly Pebble’s bullet journal video where she shared her PTS method. I loved it so much that I added it to my journal as well. P stands for Photos, T for Text and S for Scheduled. You write these letters behind each posts when you finished adding your Photos and Text and when you scheduled your post. Such a smart idea.

One blog post that I write every single month is my monthly favourites post. Because I do this every month I wanted to have a few pages where I can write down things I loved the past month. It’s also really nice to see if I have talked about a certain thing before and it’s just so much more organized. I really like to be prepared and have things organized so this is perfect for me.
I also kept a few pages empty so I can write down blog post ideas or things like that. Everybody needs some Notes pages, am I right?

Although I love being organized and having lists and stuff like that, I also wanted to have a sort of creative bullet journal. I didn’t want to use it just for planning purposes, so I created this monthly happy journal. It works super simple, I basically write down one or things that made me happy every single month. I think this is such a nice little cute thing to do each day and I can’t wait to share my first happy journal month review in February.
I am definitely not a super talented drawer but I like to doodle around every now and then so I took a few pages for a more creative activity.

I am sure there will be more pages added to my journal but for now that’s all I got in there. I hope you enjoyed this very first post in 2018. Let me know what you think of it in the comments below.

Mint green stripes | arty Monday | Glücksgeist

So I watched the new video from Rosie (MsRosieBea) on YouTube and she was wearing a mint green jumper in it. I fell in love with the colour of the jumper and totally have a new obsession now. I really wanted to buy that jumper but then it inspired me to do this painting.

As most of you know I have a huge obsession with stripes. I love them, I buy them and I wear them. So of course I had to create a striped painting at some point. But I also love polka dots and I love the mixture of stripes with them.

So I mixed my mint green paint together and started with this painting, which is one of my favourites now! I am super happy with how it turned out, so thank you Rosie for the inspiration!

I loved the plain look of my painting but I really wanted to have a nice quote on it. I searched for nice cute quotes and I found two which I absolutely love. I couldn’t decided between them, so I just took both of them, one for each side.

Pink Pineapple| Arty Monday

I am enjoying this series on my blog so so much!! I love to be creative and I finally started painting again at the beginning of November. I really forgot how calming it is and it’s just such a nice thing to do and yes! I am a little bit obsessed with it.

As most of you know I am doing an advent calendar for my mum this year. I am nearly finished with it but I also wanted to incorporate a painting I drew myself. I think that’s just something really nice to do and something really personal.

My mum loves pineapple so I went for a pink, pastel, pineapple-y theme. I really hope she likes it! I am really happy with it and yes, can’t wait to give it to her.

If you’re wondering how I created this piece, I basically coloured the whole thing pink and blue. Then I printed a photo of a pineapple. I placed the pineapple on top of my painting and then took a red colour and painted on top of it. After that I let it dry and added glue onto the pineapple shape. I took some gold glitter and sprinkled it over that area and finished was my painting.
